Brentwood have announced the signing of Brazilian defender Fernando Amorim as the club look to move into the top four in the Sky Bet Championship.
The 23-year-old Brazilian was born in Sao Paulo, but grew up in the South American country’s capital, Sao Paulo.
He made his debut in a 3-1 win over Cardiff City in the League Cup on Tuesday, having not played for the Reds since October.
The versatile defender is an attacking midfielder, who has featured in more than a dozen league matches this season, including the 4-0 win over Leeds United on Sunday.
He has a long-term contract at Brentwood and will join the club from Brazilian club Deportivo Saprissa for an undisclosed fee.
Brentwood FC have not played in the top flight since they were relegated from the Premier League in 2014.
The club, who play in the Championship at the end of this season will be looking to strengthen their squad with the signing.
Amorim, who played for Brazil at the World Cup, was signed from Brazilian side Santos in 2012 for £8.5million and is also available for a further £2.5m from Brazilian Serie A side Benfica.
The defender, who is also on loan at the Liberty Stadium from Benfida, will be available for Brentwood’s next home game, when they take on Cardiff City on Saturday.
