The Associated Press is reporting that the FBI is looking into allegations that the Trump campaign sought to obtain hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee during the 2016 election.
The FBI has also launched an investigation into whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaigns and Russian operatives.
It is unclear whether the FBI or the Justice Department is currently investigating the alleged leak.
The AP first reported that the investigation was underway.
But it later retracted that report, saying it had misinterpreted what the investigation is all about.
CNN is reporting the FBI has launched an inquiry into the alleged leaks.
Associated Press reporter Mike DeBonis reported that “senior U.S. officials” told him that a federal grand jury is currently looking into the matter.
A spokeswoman for the FBI declined to comment on the investigation.
